General Questions
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, absolutely. Honestly, if you can't afford travel insurance you can't afford to travel (and I will require proof of your coverage to add to your documentation).
It isn't really about cancellations or delays or lost luggage (although that's nice), it's about medical insurance. An accident or illness overseas has the potential to bankrupt you. Yes, it's unlikely but it's always best to "be prepared".

why do you charge a planning fee?
Unlike many online travel platforms that often prioritise certain suppliers or promotions, I aim to provide unbiased recommendations based on your best interests. The planning fee allows me to remain completely independent and impartial when suggesting accommodations, flights, tours, and other travel components. I will even recommend and book elements for your trip that aren't traditionally booked by travel agents if I think they add a unique, must have component! Also, don't forget that time is valuable, yours and mine!
can you also book all-inclusives and cruises?
Absolutely! Whilst independent travel planning is my area of expertise, I have many colleagues who specialise in all-inclusives and cruises and are happy to offer me advice. So, if you aren't sure which resort or cruise is for you, I can help!
doesn't it cost more to book through a travel agent?
Not necessarily! While some people assume that booking through a travel agent is more expensive, it's actually often quite the opposite. Travel agents have access to exclusive deals, discounts, and packages that are not always available to the general public. They also have relationships with hotels, airlines, and other travel suppliers, allowing them to negotiate better rates and pass on those savings to their clients. So, booking through a travel agent can often result in cost savings and added value.
How are travel agents paid?
Travel agents are typically paid through a combination of commissions and service fees.
1. Commissions: Travel agents often receive commissions from airlines, hotels, car rental companies, and tour operators. These commissions are a percentage of the total cost of the booking and vary depending on the supplier. These commissions are generally built into the prices, so you pay them whether you book through an agent or book direct with the supplier.
2. Service Fees: In addition to commissions, travel agents may charge service fees for their expertise and assistance in planning and booking travel arrangements. These fees can be a flat rate or based on a percentage of the total booking cost.

What is "Organised adventure"?
Organised adventure is a term that I think you will be hearing a lot more in the future.
It refers to "carefully planned and coordinated trips that involve exciting and varied experiences", and includes activities like hiking, cycling, horse riding, cookery lessons, rafting, zip-lining, and much more. These adventures include all the necessary arrangements from transportation and accommodations to providing the necessary equipment and instruction, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the participants. They are a great way to explore new destinations, challenge yourself, and create unforgettable memories and are hands down my preferred personal way to travel and experience the world.
Why "fly and flop" when you can have an "organised adventure"!

Booking
How much will the trip planning actually cost?
The average 1 week trip, with 2-3 destinations and multiple activities takes me on average 8-10 hours of research and planning.
So, professional planning fees will be in the region of ~$250 - $300.
Of note, many of my colleagues charge a flat research/planning fee of $290+. Charging an hourly rate for your personalised research and planning means that you only pay for exactly what is required for your trip.

How does your trip planning work?
We start with the phone call, to lay the ground work and ensure that we are a good fit to work together.
I then send you a consent form, information form and invoice for your initial payment. Once I have received these I start with the research and planning.
I initially propose a skeleton itinerary and once you are happy with that we flesh it out with transport, accommodation and activities.
I will keep you informed of the number of hours I have accrued working on your itinerary.
Once you are happy, then the reservations are secured using your credit card.

What information do I need to provide during the booking process?
I will need copies of everyone's passports, travel insurance details, payment information and billing address
I don't have travel Insurance, can you advise on that?
I am not licensed to sell travel insurance.
However, my agency does have a business relationship with Manulife. Follow this link for more information Go Travel Insurance Page

How can I best prepare for my initial phone call?
Have a good think about some of the logistics of your trip. When do you want to go? How long do you want to go for? How many people will be on the trip? What are their ages and interests? Does anyone in the group have any special requirements? What is your budget? Do you know where you want to go?
Whilst you definitely don't need to know the answers to all of these questions, you will get more out of the call if you have given it some thought!

Hosted Tours
Hosted Tour: What is it and What Does the Host Do?
A Women Go Travel hosted tour means travelling with a local guide and your host, Angela. She will support you throughout your journey, beginning with pre-trip preparations, providing a reading list, packing advice, and answering any questions you have before you depart.
During the tour, Angela acts as your organised companion, managing logistics, updating you on plans, and helping sort out any hiccups.
Plus, having Angela as your host doesn’t add to the trip's cost compared to doing it all yourself. She’s the friendly face ensuring your holiday is enjoyable from start to finish.

What are the benefits of going on a hosted tour?
There are lots of benefits, including:

What is the typical group size for your hosted tours
This does vary slightly from tour to tour, but my maximum group size is 12 people.
This is considerably smaller compared to most companies offering small group tours, which typically accommodate 16 to 24 travellers.

Why women only trips?
Women's only trips offer a unique and empowering experience. They provide a safe space to bond, share stories, and build connections. You can relax and be yourself without judgment. Plus, my trips focus on activities and cultural experiences tailored to women's interests.
Your hosted tours are "Land Only", what does this mean?
"Land only" refers to a travel package that includes all the components of a holiday, such as accommodation, transportation, some meals and activities, but excludes international airfare.
what are the benefits of a "land only" package?
Flexibility: By booking your own flights separately, you have the freedom to choose your preferred airlines, routes, and departure dates. This allows you to customise your travel plans according to your preferences and budget.
Cost savings: By excluding airfare, "land only" packages can often be more affordable. This is especially beneficial for those who have access to discounted or reward flights, or individuals who prefer to book their flights using frequent flyer miles.
Personalisation: By having control over your flights, you have the opportunity to extend your trip or make stopovers along the way, adding more destinations to your itinerary.
Reunion: Maybe your best friend lives in another city, country or continent? What better way to meet up, than on an organised adventure!

I'm worried that I may be too old or too young for your tours, will my age be a problem?
The average age of women on my tours is 40's - 60's, but I actively welcome women of all ages. And, as I have already mentioned, the only requirements are that you have a reasonable degree of fitness, a sense of adventure and a fabulous sense of humour to join!
